MENTAL ILLNESS POLICY
Nowhere in Sherwood Rise will there be any characters with mental disorders for the following reasons:
Having a mental illness is not something to be glamorized or portrayed in a misleading or inaccurate way. It's a burden that plagues some unfortunate people who don't need to deal with roleplayers who write "psycho" characters because it's "fun" or "edgy."
Mental illnesses in Warrrior Cats characters can lead to problems in good character development. It's usually one of those traits that people have their character ride on as if it's a personality quirk. And since there's no way for a mental illness to be cured - or even controlled - in the Warrior Cats Universe, it leaves no room for character improvement, thus making a one-dimensional farce of a character. And that turns everyone into sad pandas, so don't do it. :C
- In some cases, it's cause for exile.
Cats don't go to great lengths to understand abnormal behavior. If your character has Schizophrenia and suffers from severe psychosis, no one in the clan is going to say, "Oh, it's just how Starclan made them." They're going to be frightened and alarmed by it, and the leader would probably throw your character out of the clan in an effort to protect the others.
Basically, we don't allow mental ailments, and we'd rather you not even ask permission because we will turn down your request 100% of the time.
Thank you.
